Itinerary
DAY 1 – Depart the US for Ghana, West Africa – Times to be announced.
DAY 2 – GHANA – Arrival at Ghana Airport and be greeted by our local representative and transfer to your hotel. Check into Novotel Accra City hotel, later you will have a short orientation and money exchange and shortly after, lunch. Later this afternoon; begin a tour with a visit to Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Art Centre Bazaar. Return around 6::00 pm and later join the rest of your group for a welcome Dinner at University Guest Restaurant (D)
DAY 3 – ACCRA – After an early breakfast, begin your day with a city tour with visits to W.E.B Du-Bois Centre and University of Ghana and later enjoy lunch on your own. Continue with your tour, visiting the National Museum and Artist Alliance Galley. Return to your hotel late evening and enjoy the rest of your day. Novotel Accra City hotel (B)
DAY 4 – ACCRA-CAPE COAST – Enjoy an early breakfast and depart at 7:30 am for Cape Coast/Elmina in the Central Region, Check into Elmina Beach Resort /Coconut Grove Hotel. At 10:00, you will visit Elmina Slave Castle and later lunch. At 2:00 pm, you will visit Kakum Nature Park for a forest canopy walk. Return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening on your own. Coconut Grove hotel. (B)
Day 5 – CAPE COAST – Early breakfast and depart at 8:30 for a visit and tour of Cape Coast Slave Dungeon. Later you will enjoy lunch at Mable’s Table in Cape Coast. Then proceed to CNC for a traditional Naming Ceremony. You will return to Elmina Beach Resort, Coconut Grove Hotel. (B & L)
Day 6 – CAPE COAST – KUMASI – Breakfast at 7:30 and depart at 8:30 am for Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region. You will arrive at 12:30 pm, check into the Golden Tulip Hotel, refresh and later enjoy lunch at Joefel Restaurant. At 2:00 pm; visit Asantehene’s Palace Museum to learn about Asante history and heritage. Later continue with shopping at Ahwiaa, the popular wood carving village for Asante stools and other beautiful artwork. Return to your hotel and spend the rest of your evening on your own. Day 7 – KUMASI – ACCRA – After an early breakfast, you will continue your tour of Kumasi with a visit to Bonwire, the famous Kente weaving village. This afternoon we will return to Accra with a stop for lunch at noon. Arrive in Accra around 5:30 pm, check into the Novotel Accra City Hotel. Rest of day at leisure (B)
Day 8 – ACCRA – Shortly after breakfast, depart for a visit to a local orphanage. Today you will have the opportunity for interaction with children and offer donations of clothing, and other supplies.
At noon you will depart for lunch. Later, visit a local market for last-minute shopping. Return to your hotel and later join your group for a farewell dinner in addition to an African dance performance at Osekan Beachfront Restaurant. Overnight at Novotel Accra City Hotel. (B & D)
Day 9 – ACCRA-USA – Early breakfast and spend the morning at leisure. Check out of your hotel at noon and transfer to the airport for return flight to USA.
