Northern Historical Route – 12-Day Tour of Ethiopia
Day 1: International Departure
Depart from the United States for Ethiopia. Flight times and airline details will be provided prior to departure. Relax and prepare for an unforgettable cultural and spiritual journey through the heart of historic northern Ethiopia.
Day 2: Arrival and Journey to Bahir Dar
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, begin your journey north to Bahir Dar via Debre Markos. En route, visit the historic Portuguese Bridge—believed to be the first bridge built in Ethiopia—and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Blue Nile Gorge, a canyon plunging nearly 1,500 meters deep.

Day 3: Lake Tana and Blue Nile Falls
Explore Lake Tana by boat, visiting island and peninsula monasteries such as Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret. Continue to Debre Maryam Monastery near the lake’s outlet. In the afternoon, hike the trails surrounding the majestic Blue Nile Falls, followed by a lakeside sunset.
